View Newsletter ArchiveThe winter quarterly meeting and Christmas Dinner of BMF Wessex will be held on Tuesday 9th December 2008 in the Edinburgh Room at the Royal Motor Yacht Club, Sandbanks, Poole, Dorset at 6.30 for 7.00pm. The menu for dinner is below. If you would prefer a vegetarian main course or other alternative please mark the reply slip accordingly.

Our guest speaker will be Stephen Park (also known as "Sparky"). Stephen is the RYA Olympic Manager. His presentation will be called "An insight into Skandia Team GBR". He has worked with the Olympic Sailing Team for the last 3 Olympics and as a sailor he completed Olympic campaigns in both the 470 and Tornado disciplines for the 1992 & 96 Games respectively. Stephen continues to manage the Olympic & Paralympic Sailing Teams as they campaign towards the London 2012 Olympic Games. This promises to be a very interesting evening.
We will be holding our charity raffle again and welcome donations of prizes. Following the talk by James Sydenham at the AGM we will be donating the proceeds this year to Cancer Research UK. Please let me know if you are able to bring a prize.
Paul and Viv Glatzel of Powerboat Training UK have kindly offered to sponsor the wine at the dinner. Grateful thanks to them for offering this. We welcome sponsorship for future dinners. This normally involves providing some wine. If you are interested in this please give me a call.
I hope you will be able to join us on 9th December. The cost will be £20 per head. Please send your booking form and cheque to me by 2nd December at the latest.
Poole Afloat 2009 will be held on Poole Quay and at Poole Quay Boat Haven on Saturday 20th June. The event will be a similar format to this year and will run alongside "Arri Paye" Day. Please contact either James Sydenham on 01202 707391 or myself for further details or if you are interested in exhibiting or being involved in any way.
